Fred is a gentle, affectionate senior who forms deep bonds once he feels safe and comfortable. At 13 years young, he’s a total lovebug—affectionate, gentle, and happiest when he’s close to his people. If you sit down, chances are Fred will be right there with you, soaking up attention and asking (politely but persistently) for a good brushing, which just happens to be one of his very favorite things.
At first meeting, Fred can be a little shy and cautious with new people—but give him a bit of time, a calm voice, and some patience, and his loving personality begins to shine.
Fred is also wonderfully chatty. He enjoys carrying on conversations, offering commentary on your day, and reminding you when it’s time for love, snacks, or more brushing. His sweet, expressive nature makes him a joy to be around.
Fred must be adopted with his sister, Ginger, who has been his constant companion his entire life. The two came to The Cat’s Meow after their beloved owner passed away, and they are very bonded and comforting to one another. They have always been indoor-only cats and have known a quiet, loving home.
Earlier in life, Fred and Ginger lived with a dog and would likely do well again with an older, calm, cat-friendly canine. They would thrive in a peaceful home where they can enjoy cozy naps, gentle routines, and plenty of affection.
If you’re looking to open your heart to a devoted pair of seniors who have so much love left to give, Fred and Ginger may be the perfect match. 💕
Senior cats are 8 years and older. The adoption fee includes the spay or neuter surgery (which is already done), microchip, testing for feline leukemia and FIV, distemper vaccination, deworming and flea treatment. In addition, all of our senior kitties receive a thorough veterinary exam with comprehensive bloodwork, urinalysis (to check their kidney health) and dental care if needed. It is always our policy to treat any known medical condition or disclose the condition if it's an ongoing concern.
