Volunteering at Thrifty Kitty is a fun and relaxing way to make a difference in your community.
We are looking for enthusiastic people who are available to volunteer for one 3-hour shift each week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday. Sign up with your best friend or partner and volunteer together!
Volunteers will sort and stock merchandise, assist customers and work the sales counter and cash register in a relaxed and friendly environment. There is a bathroom available to volunteers inside the shop and the shop is comfortably heated. No experience or heavy lifting is required.
Volunteers must be 18 or older, complete a volunteer questionnaire and liability release form, pass a background check (because you will be handling money), and attend a brief orientation session. Volunteers will meet with a volunteer coordinator to determine their best placement and schedule.
Volunteers keep a regular schedule of one three hour shift per week. Shifts are either 11 a.m. - 2 p.m or 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday. Your shift will be at the same day and time each week.
Volunteering at the Cat's Meow is rewarding and fun, but is a significant service-based commitment on your part. We are especially interested in recruiting long-term volunteers. Many of our current volunteers have been with us for years and have completed hundreds of volunteer hours. Please carefully consider your schedule and your ability to commit your time. We require an initial commitment of six continuous months.
