Adoption FAQ
What is the adoption fee?
The adoption fee is $100. All cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, microchipped and tested for feline leukemia prior to adoption. The adoption fee also includes: HCP vaccination, deworming and flea treatment.
If you're age 65 or older, you qualify for a 50% discount on your adoption through our Mature Cats for Mature People program.
What is the adoption process?
Adopting a cat from the Cat's Meow is a simple process. We'll talk about what you're looking for and help you find a cat that suits your family's lifestyle. We'll complete some simple paperwork and in most cases you're able to take your new kitty home the same day.
What if I get home with my new cat and I feel it's not a good match?
The Cat's Meow unconditionally guarantees all of our adoptions. If it's not working out for any reason you may bring the cat back to us at any time.
Where is the adoption center located?
The Cat's Meow is located in downtown Anacortes at the corner of 4th Street and R Avenue. See more information on our hours and location.
Should I get a cat or a kitten?
Kittens are fun and may be a good choice for a family; however, they can demand a lot of care and attention. One of the many advantages to adopting an adult cat is that their personality is already developed and what you see is what you get. Our expert matchmakers can help you find the right cat or kitten for your family's lifestyle.
Where do your cats and kittens come from?
Most of the cats and kittens admitted to the Cat's Meow are stray cats who were either lost or abandoned. We give admission priority to homeless cats that do not have anyone caring for them.
